RECTOR ÇOMAKLI ATTENDED RESEARCH UNIVERSITIES SUPPORT PROJECT MEETING
Ataturk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı participated in the Research Universities Support Project Meeting held with the participation of Erol Özvar, which was hosted by Ankara University, Chairman of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK),.
The process of the Research University was discussed at the meeting attended by the rectors of the universities selected as the Research University, and the relevant unit managers of YÖK. The economic ecosystem created by the Research University was also evaluated within the scope of the program, in which the contributions to the country's higher education, scientific collaborations with internal and external stakeholders, regional contributions and academic culture were mentioned.
Making an assessment of the process at the meeting, Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı started his speech by thanking the support provided under the Research University Support Program (ADEP).
Rector Çomaklı: “Our first job was to establish the Monitoring and Evaluation Office”
Rector Çomaklı stated that Atatürk University first established the Research University Monitoring and Evaluation Office Coordinatorship after being included in the Research University category, adding: “In this office, an inspection and monitoring mechanism for the activities of our university was established within the framework of 30 parameters. In addition, coordinatorships were created in each sector and focus area that our University matched, and the secretariat task of these coordinators was given to the Research University Monitoring and Evaluation Office. These coordinatorships have been assigned to produce project ideas related to their fields, monitor the outputs of existing projects and establish networks with other research universities in their fields.
Stating that the project management processes of the projects to be developed within this scope are carried out by the BAP Coordination Unit, Prof. Dr. Çomaklı said that 8 projects were supported in 2022 and 24 projects were supported in 2023. He thanked the President of YÖK, Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar and wished the meeting outcomes to be beneficial.
