RECTOR ÇOMAKLI MEETS WITH MINISTER VARANK

Ataturk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı and Erzurum MP Zehra Taskesenlioğlu Ban visited the Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank. At the meeting held within the scope of the visit, the ongoing research projects within Atatürk University and the studies carried out at the Eastern Anatolia Observatory were assessed.

The meeting held in the capital was also attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Atilla Keskin, Director of the Astrophysics Research and Application Center (ATASAM) Prof. Dr. Cahit Yeşilyaprak and Assistant Director of Computer Sciences Research and Application Center (BAUM) Dr. Instructor Member Serdar Aydın took part.

Rector Çomaklı: “Our University Gained a Significant Acceleration”

Starting his speech by noting that Atatürk University, which was chosen as a Research University by the Council of Higher Education (CHE), continues its scientific studies uninterruptedly, and that it implements projects that will benefit the society, Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı shared the details of the Data Center, Cold Test Center and High Technology Development Center projects in particular. Rector Çomaklı also shared information about the studies carried out at the Eastern Anatolian Observatory (DAG), which is among the largest basic science projects in our country and will become one of the few observatories in the world when completed: It gained significant momentum with the change and transformation. We wholeheartedly believe that the projects produced with its qualified academic staff and well-equipped infrastructure will also provide important gains for our country. We would like to thank the Minister of Industry and Technology, Mustafa Varank, whose support we always felt behind us, especially in implementing projects that will make a difference in the field of industry and technology, for his hospitality, close attention to our projects and works, and all his support so far, our Erzurum MP, who accompanied us. I would also like to express my gratitude to Zehra Taşkesenlioğlu Ban. With these thoughts; I would also like to express my gratitude to the great Atatürk University family, who have contributed to the emergence of such important studies that will contribute to the development of our country.

Zehra Taşkesenlioğlu Ban: “Atatürk University is Among the Leading Educational Institutions of Our Country”

Zehra Taşkesenlioğlu Ban, who stated that Atatürk University, which is the locomotive of Eastern Anatolia in the scientific and academic field and contributes to the development of the region with the title of the university founded a university, continues its studies with the awareness of this responsibility and said that with its 65-year-old history and scientific studies that make life easier by turning into knowledge, it is one of the leading universities of our country. He said that Atatürk University, which is one of the leading universities in Erzurum, serves its region and surrounding countries, and in this sense, it has a mission far beyond its borders. Zehra Taşkesenlioğlu Ban, who stated that they support every work done in this direction until the end, added that the ongoing studies within the university for the domestic and national technology move of our country will be completed in the near future and will meet an important need.

Minister Varank: “I believe that Atatürk University will reach its goals in the near future”

Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, who started his speech by expressing his satisfaction with the visit, stated that he closely followed the works of Atatürk University and had the opportunity to see it on-site many times, and said: “Our country has entered a new process not only in terms of technology but also in the scientific and academic field.  I believe that Atatürk University, which took part in the meeting where the Research Universities we also took part in, were determined and this title was handed over, will soon reach the goals it has set for itself. I find the ongoing studies in this direction very important for the future of our country" and made various suggestions regarding the development of the Data Center, DAG, Cold Test Center and High Technology Development Center projects.
