Ataturk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı released a message for Martyrs' Week. Rector Çomaklı gave the following statements in his message:

“Our dear martyrs who gave their lives for the sake of the country, the nation, the flag, for freedom, for the sake of living free;

If we are able to live freely today without submitting to anyone, without being dominated by anyone, this is the result of leaving us a livable country in return for your dear life.

Knowing that the homeland is not just a piece of land, we commemorate all our martyrs who sacrificed their sweet lives for the sake of this beautiful homeland, "for the sake of a crescent moon", with respect, gratitude and mercy.

May their souls rest in peace…”
