RECTOR ÇOMAKLI'S BEST WISHES VISIT TO TÜBİTAK HEAD PROF.DR. HASAN MANDAL
Atatürk University rector Prof.Dr. Ömer ÇOMAKLI paid a visit to Prof. Dr. Hasan MANDAL in his office appointed as the head of Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK), offering his best wishes on his new position.
During the visit taking place in a warm environment, Çomaklı gave extensive information to Mandal about the projects being conducted at Atatürk University. Sharing information about the Transformation Project launched for the structuring of enterprising and innovative university, Çomaklı told that, within this framework, they have made new changes in the Scientific Research Projects Coordination Unit (BAP), restructured the Project Office and started new project offices in all faculties in this context. In addition, Çomaklı stated that panels have been held on the models of TÜBİTAK projects and the university has made great efforts into Ar-Ge works, reminding they often hold educational programs to apply to national and international projects.

"Foreign graduate students should be granted TÜBİTAK scholarship; a TÜBİTAK Scientific Center should be established at Ataürk University; Fundemental Sciences program (TEBİP) started at İstanbul University should also be opened at Atatürk University, and 113 projects submitted in April and the Transformation Project to change the face of the university should also be given support by TÜBİTAK" Çomaklı demanded, explaining that they have done important works to turn the information produced into practical one.

Expressing his gratitude for the visit, Mandal mentioned that Atatürk university is a rooted university, aware of the significance of New-Generation University Design and Transformation Project. He also told about his participation in search conferences where the future of the university has been designed and common mind targeted, remarking the very importance of the project for the university. "Ataürk University has a very important potential in many ways," said Mandal, putting emphasis on the need for the specialisation of universities from now on. Mandal stated that it is getting more and more important to have access to and manage data in the present digital era and the future might be able to be predicted with data management, adding that what the institutions need is the transformation of data into information for a sustainable success.
Assessing the common steps to be taken for the good of the two institutions, the visit ended with mutual goodwill wishes.
