RECTOR ÇOMAKLI'S WISH FOR SUCCESS VISIT TO GOVERNOR ÇIFTÇI

Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı visited Erzurum Governor Mustafa Çiftçi in his office.

Rector Çomaklı visited Mustafa Çiftçi, who was appointed as the Governor of Erzurum from Çorum with the Presidential Decree of Governors dated 9 August 2023, in his office and wished him the best for his new duties.

Rector Çomaklı, who shared information about Atatürk University with Governor Çiftçi, stated that with the mission of the university that founded the university, it has been continuing its work uninterruptedly with the justified pride of serving its country for 67 years, especially in the region where it is located. Rector Çomaklı also talked about the New Generation University Design and Transformation Project, which changed the face of the university and led it to gain the identity of an institution that will compete with world universities, and said that as a result of the steps taken, they were both accredited by the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK) and gained the status of Research University by the Higher Education Council as a result of the steps taken within the framework of this vision.

Rector Çomaklı, who also made evaluations about the projects and studies carried out and planned within the scope of university-society, university-industry, university-public and university-tourism collaborations, said: "Atatürk University is the apple of Erzurum's eye, the gateway to the world, the past, the present and the future. Graduates of our university work not only in our country but also in many countries of the world and represent us as volunteer ambassadors of our city. With this responsibility, we are working with all our strength to carry our university to higher levels with the contribution of all our internal and external stakeholders. With these feelings, I convey my best wishes to our esteemed Governor Mustafa Çiftçi, who I sincerely believe will add value to Erzurum and I am sure that we will carry out important studies together with his approach to our university, and I wish the entire Erzurum Governorship convenience and success in serving this special city with its history and culture."

Governor Çiftçi stated that the projects and studies carried out by Atatürk University are pleasing and emphasised their importance in the socio-cultural development of the city and the region: "Within the scope of this duty entrusted to us, I am honoured and happy to serve Erzurum province, which has natural wonders, natural beauties and geographical formations, historical artefacts and cultural assets that are unique in the world, and our esteemed fellow citizens living in this distinguished geography".

Governor Çiftçi stated that universities have an important function in the development of a province and that Atatürk University has a great contribution to the city in this sense: "With the responsibility of serving an ancient city like Erzurum, it will be among our primary goals to leave a more developed Erzurum to future generations in every field, to further increase the brand value of Erzurum by carrying out effective and efficient joint studies with Atatürk University, one of the distinguished higher education institutions of our country and our region."
