Atatürk University rector Prof.Dr. Ömer ÇOMAKLI paid a visit to Erzurum Imam-Hatip Graduates society (ERZİMDER).
Maintaining his visits to societies, foundations and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) as part of Universtiy-NGO cooperation, Çomaklı also visited the ERZİMDER society. The visit was performed at the madrasah of Erzurum Kurşunlu Mosque, hosted by the society head Cemil İLBAŞ, addressing the problems of imam-hatip schools and societies and societies' ties with public bodies.
"We give everlasting support to the struggle of those produced by these lands (Anotolia) to carry their own values and civilization into future," said Çomaklı, "Maybe the most important thing to be done for our country is to work to help bringing up a virtuous young generation whom we entrust our future. It is our common responsibility to provide the ground and means for those with humanitarian values and acting in a sense of social belonging to unearth their potentials. Accordingly, I appreciate the self-sacrificing works by the Erzurum Imam-Hatip society. In particular, they fulfil an important duty with the program " Talks in the Climate of Madrasah" held on a monthly basis, bringing together the young and the leading experts. I congratulate and wish success the ERZİMDER head Cemil İLBAŞ and his administrative committee."
Thanking Çomaklı for his visit, ERZİMDER head İlbaş told they work to bring up individuals capable of assessing cultural heritage, interpreting the life and finding solutions to problems. In his statement, İlbaş also said that the society (ERZİMDER) contributes to properly direct the young with personal equipments as required by the time, being loyal to their values and serving for humanity, pointing out that Imam-hatip schools fulfil an important mission.
The visit has ended with participants' wishes for the development of joint projects and cooperation.
