On his visit to the Society for the Publicity of Erzurum Province, Atatürk University rector Prof.Dr. Ömer Çomaklı met with the administrators of the Society within the framework of society-oriented university understanding.
Spending his weekends visiting societies, foundations and non-governmental organisations (NGOs), Çomakli also visited last weekend the Society for Publicity of Erzurum Province.
The Society head Adnan Bozan expressed his gratitude to Çomaklı for his visit, stressing the importance of such activities for the publicity and development of the city. Bozan thanked Çomakli for his self-sacrificing efforts on culture and education, adding that they closely followed the project activities of the University.
Sharing information about the University and its targets, Çomaklı emphasized the importance of University-NGOs cooperation for himself.
"We can be successful through the cooperation with NGOs, foundations, societies, business world, etc. to inculcate the new generation university understanding into minds. It is in our power to develop our city. We can make Erzurum again the pupil of the East, situated on the historic silk road, being an important commerce hub," said Çomakli, adding that there is no doubt we can do best for Erzurum as long as we work together brotherly.
