RECTOR ÇOMAKLI MADE SOME VISITS TO MOROCCO

Continuing his trips abroad to participate in the International Student Fair held in Casablanca and Marrakech and to visit institutions, strengthen bilateral relations and make new international agreements, Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı visited, within this context, Morocco Casablanca Hasan II University, International Rabat University, Mohammed V University and Rabat Yunus Emre Institute.

Accompanied by the Foreign Relations Office Coordinator Prof. Dr. Taşkın Öztaş during the visits, Çomaklı first met with the administrators of Morocco Casablanca Hasan II University.

The bilateral agreement with Morocco Casablanca Hasan II University, which has been in effect since 2015, has been re-signed by Rector Prof. Dr. Houssine Azeddoug. The protocol between the two universities was renewed on cooperation in research and education, increasing the exchange of faculty members and students, especially on the initiation of short-term researcher mobility.

Continuing his meetings in Morocco with the International University of Rabat, Rector Çomaklı met with university administrators and agreed with the administrators to collaborate on exchange programs as well as researcher mobility.

Çomaklı thanked the managers of International Rabat University for their hospitality during the visit, where consensus was reached on the exchange of students and academic staff, which is focused on education and research, and the conduct of joint scientific studies (projects, publications, patents, trademarks, congresses, symposiums, etc.).

Meeting with the managers of Rabat Mohammed V University within the framework of Atatürk University's internationalization mission, Çomaklı exchanged ideas on the studies that can be done to ensure academic transition between the two institutions.

Çomaklı also delt with the issues of education and research-oriented student and academic staff exchange with Mohammed V University, later visiting the Turkish chamber at Mohammed V University, which was organized by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).

Rector Çomaklı was welcomed by Rabat Yunus Emre Institute within the scope of his visit to Morocco, conferring with Ensar Fırat, Director of the Institute. Çomaklı noted that Yunus Emre Institute is a large-scale institution with worldwide activity, expressing that the Institute has increased Turkey's recognization and credibility in the international arena and wished success for its studies being conducted.

Rector Çomaklı participated in the International Student Fair held in Casablanca where Atatürk University also has a stand, visiting the University's stand.

Having conversation with the guests who visited the Atatürk University stand at the fair, Rector Çomaklı gave information about the University and advised the visitors to come to Atatürk University as a faculty member or student.

“Bilateral Cooperations Will Increasingly Continue”

Talking on the visits, Çomaklı pointed out that as Atatürk University, bilateral cooperation studies in line with the national and international leadership mission, especially with the universities in the nearby geography, have increased in terms of quality.

"Joint programs will be started, joint scientific studies and activities will be organized, and researchers will be supported to visit Atatürk University in the context of bilateral agreements. We always have good relations with the universities in the sister country Morocco and that these relations will increasingly continue." he added.

Rector Çomaklı stated that the relations between the people of the two countries of the Islamic world, which have a deep-rooted history, from history to geography and civilization, have turned into cooperation in the fields of economy, tourism and education. he made the following remarks: “We are ready to make every effort to carry the cooperation opportunities between Atatürk University and the universities in Morocco to the next level. I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who hosted us during our visit to Morocco, which we realized with these thoughts, and I wish that the cooperation made will be beneficial.”
