The Rector of Ataturk University, Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı spends the weekend work by visiting the representatives of various NGOs.

Adding a new one to his NGO visits which he made traditional within the scope of the university-NGO cooperation, Rector Çomaklı and Secretary General Assoc. Dr Şendoğan Karagöz met with the managers by visiting Erzurum İbrahim Hakkı Social Assistance  Solidarity and Culture Association(ERIHDER) and Confederation of HAK-İŞ.

As a part of the visits, the Rector Çomaklı was the guest of Nuri Toparlak the President of ERIHDER and Erol Aksakal the President of  HAK-İŞ Confederation Erzurum Branch .

"We  Will Give Necessary Support to New Projects for the Development of Cultural  Cooperation"

Rector Çomaklı stated that ERİHDER, one of the leading social and cultural NGOs of Erzurum, is carrying out an important and valuable project in translating the works of İbrahim Hakkı into foreign languages and and he added that the previous generations learned a lot from Marifetname, the great work of Ibrahim Hakkı which includes all religious, mystical, and natural sciences, and that future generations will learn a lot from Him.

Stating that the necessary support will be givenin their new projects for the development of cultural cooperation Prof. Dr. Çomaklı demanded cooperation from ERIHDER, which makes an effort to convey Ibrahim Hakki’s works to different geographies, especially in order to introduce the culture of Erzurum to foreign students.

"Unionization  Activities are Very Important for Employee Rights"

Rector Çomaklı, who made the second of the weekend visits to HAK-İş Confederation came together with confederation management. During the visit, where many issues were discussed, from inter-enterprise cooperation, to union services, employee satisfaction, rights and freedoms, Rector Çomaklı stated that the HAK-İŞ Confederation has acted without compromising the determined, principled and responsible unionism understanding. He also added that:

“I congratulate the HAK-İŞ Confederation for their efforts to put people, labour and democracy at the centre of their union activities, to strengthen democracy in the workplaces, to deliver the demands of the workers to all the organs of their union, and to make the workers feel safe at work and participate in democratic process.”

"Universities  Are Trying To Produce Knowledge In The Areas That Society Will Need Beside  Education-Training "

Rector Çomaklı , who underlined that the accumulation of knowledge at universities should be transferred to society and become beneficial in every environment, said “The main task of universities is to provide education and training services, on the other hand, to conduct research in basic and applied fields. Researches, on the other hand, should be directed to produce information in areas that society would need. We also focused on social contribution within the framework of the vision put forward by CoHE. We try to make our productions and works in this direction.”

Rector Çomaklı spent some of his weekend visits at the youth centre that Atatürk University and Yakutiye District Muftiate office opened together last year.

Çomaklı, who did not neglect to visit students during the week of  final exams in which students were prepared for the exams intensely ,chatted with them for a while and wished them success in their exams.
