Atatürk University Rector Prof.Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, who continues to exchange ideas by meeting with the city's stakeholders, met with the management and members of the Eastern Anatolia Exporters Union (DAİB) and consulted to develop university-community cooperation in this context.
Vice rector, rector advisor and unit and office coordinators accompanied to Rector Prof.Dr.Çomaklı who continues his weekend visits to strengthen the communication bridge established with the representatives of public institutions, NGOs, foundations, associations and industry world.
Turkey's first exporters association Union of Eastern Anatolia Exporters' (DAİB) Chairman Ethem Tanrıver met with Rector Çomaklı and his team, to provide more meeting points between the scientific and academic studies made in Atatürk University and business world.
Rector Çomaklı said that solutions will be produced to exporters and studies will be concentrated on reaching the maximum level of exports throughout the region and talked about the projects carried out by different units within the university.
“We are a University that Researches, Practices and Uses this for the Benefit of the Society”
Rector Çomaklı said that  for the progress and  the development of production and exports in Turkey,especially the Faculties of Agricultural and Veterinary  and other departments which contact with  the manufacturers directly are in the service of citizens. Rector stated that they are working to support research, development and renewal work on this issue, to solve the problem by going out on the field and to increase the diversity in production.
Rector Çomaklı: "We closely follow the problems of our city and our region and see the works of you.At this point, our university is ready to contribute with the necessary research and development activities in providing products to the industry and creating added value by acting as a locomotive.
One part of our university is research and development activities and one part is the education of our students.We are always open to collaborations with our academics who research, apply and use this for the benefit of the society.I wish these meetings to be beneficial to our province and region. ”
Stating that the close attention that Rector Çomaklı showed to the public institutions, organizations, associations, foundations and non-governmental organizations in the city pleased them, Ethem Tanrıver, Chairman of the Board of Directors, said that Atatürk University is in a very important position for Erzurum and Eastern Anatolia Region.
Noting that they want to benefit from such an important institution that directly affects the development of the city and benefits its social-economic development, Tanrıver said: "There is no obstacle for us to transfer resources to our academicians' studies and projects , especially to the ones which are for  increasing production and efficiency, and against disease.As DAİB, we are ready to provide resources in all respects to the scientific support that our university will provide on these issues.I wholeheartedly thank our Rector and his team for visiting our union by valuing us. "
