RECTOR ÇOMAKLI ATTENDED TURKUNIB EVALUATION MEETING
An informative meeting was held for the Summit of Heads of State of the Organisation of Turkic States, which is held annually to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, solidarity, and cooperation among the Turkic Council's member states and will be hosted this year by Azerbaijan.
Atatürk University's Rector, Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, attended a meeting in Ankara with TURKUNIB member universities to coordinate and offer viewpoints on subjects to be debated in the general assembly.
The 7th General Assembly Meeting of the Union of Turkic Universities (TÜRKÜNİB) will take place on May 20, 2024, under the chairmanship of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC). The meeting is part of the Organisation of Turkic States and provides opportunities for higher education cooperation. The rectors of almost 50 universities across the Turkic globe will attend this crucial meeting, where critical concerns concerning TURKUNIB's future operations will be discussed.
According to Rector Çomaklı, the Turkic Council prioritises educational and scientific collaboration.
Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, Rector of Atatürk University, stated that the Turkic Council attaches great importance to cooperation in the field of education and science. These fields are one of the most important elements for ensuring social change, economic development, and prosperity in the member states. It also serves as an important bridge in promoting and reinforcing common awareness around common language, history, and cultural values among the young generations.
Rector Çomaklı stated that Atatürk University is the gateway of the country's higher education to the world with its location and international students. He believes that this and similar organisations will contribute to the recognition and visibility of the university, as well as the relations with the universities of the Turkic World to reach the highest level.
