RECTOR ÇOMAKLI SUSTAINS IN ESTABLISHING ADDITIONAL INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATIONS
Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, the rector of Atatürk University, is currently in Poland and Lithuania for a sequence of meetings and the signing of cooperation protocols. He expanded his international cooperation agreements by paying a visit to Lublin Medical University and Lublin Technical University on the second day of his study abroad program, which commenced with Lublin Life Sciences and Maria Curie-Skoldowska Universities.
Rector Çomaklı expanded his international visits to include Poland and Lithuania in an effort to enhance the university's reputation and visibility, foster strong connections with universities worldwide, and construct scientific bridges in the academic domain. In pursuit of these objectives, he convened highly fruitful meetings and engaged in collaborative endeavors with the educational institutions including joint studies, and the signing of protocols. The collaborations, which span a wide range of topics including academic staff mobility and student exchange, also seek to forge solid connections between the higher education systems of the two nations.
Rector Çomaklı declared that the measures implemented in accordance with the internationalization vision that arose from the change and transformation initiative undertaken by Atatürk University garnered favorable feedback. Furthermore, he stated that the increased expectations for collaboration, particularly from reputable universities, were a direct consequence of Atatürk University's designation as a Research University and the subsequent reaccreditation of its educational offerings by YÖKAK.
In this regard, Rector Çomaklı declared that they collaborated with education-providing universities in Azerbaijan, namely Baku State University, Azerbaijan State Economics University, and Azerbaijan Architecture and Construction Universities, over the course of the previous week. Following the opening of a new window to the Turkish World, they embarked on an educational excursion to Europe. He reported that within two days, they established comprehensive partnerships with four universities.
Çomaklı underscored the ongoing cooperation discussions with universities in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, and Lithuania. He further stated that these protocols hold significant importance for Atatürk University as they facilitate greater dialogue with universities worldwide and position it as a preeminent institution in domains including student exchange programs, academic exchange programs, joint research initiatives, and cultural events.
