RECTOR ÇOMAKLI CAME TOGETHER WITH THE ACADEMICIANS OF THE FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE

Ataturk University Faculty of Agriculture, which is the third faculty opened in Turkey, continues to change and transform.

In this context; Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, who visited the faculty to examine the renewed laboratories, and the university senior management held a consultation meeting with the participation of faculty members and exchanged ideas to improve quality.

Rector Çomaklı, who listened to the opinions and suggestions of the faculty members regarding the future plans and projects of the university, said that Atatürk University has achieved significant success in a short time with its changing face and redesigned road map within the scope of the New Generation University Design and Transformation Project.

"We will continue to exchange ideas with our academicians"

Rector Çomaklı stated that they shaped the vision of the New Generation University, which was put into practice in order to re-establish the university's goals and strategies, mission and vision and to direct the studies in line with this goal, with the support of academicians, and mentioned that the work should be accelerated to raise the bar to higher levels.

Rector Çomaklı: "We have started to fulfil the criteria set by YÖK one by one by intensifying our studies in line with the goals we have set. We have accredited our departments and laboratories and we continue to do so. We have increased our cooperation with the business world and other public institutions. We have carried out model and patent studies by creating a climate of R&D and innovation. We implemented our policies decisively and achieved significant successes. We would like to thank our academicians, whose support we have always felt throughout this process and who have worked selflessly. I would like to state that we will continue to exchange ideas in the following process."

After the meeting, Horticulture (Post-Harvest Physiology Laboratory, Plant Physiology Laboratory), which was modernised with the support of the Scientific Research Projects Coordination Unit (BAP) and located in the Plant Sciences Building of the Faculty of Agriculture, Molecular Genetics Laboratory, Tissue Culture Laboratory, Thermal Analysis Laboratory, Application Laboratory), Plant Protection (Acarology and Nematology Laboratory, Student Application Laboratory, Insect Taxonomy Laboratory, Insect Systematics Laboratory, Toxicology Laboratory, Molecular Phytopathology Laboratory, Plant Clinical Laboratory, Essential Oil Laboratory), Field Crops (Molecular Plant Breeding Laboratory, Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory, Industrial and Medical Plants Laboratory, Feed and Quality Analysis Laboratory, Student Application Laboratory I-II, Molecular Cytogenetics Laboratory) and Department of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition (Soil Chemistry and Plant Nutrition Laboratory, Soil Biology Laboratory, Soil Physics Laboratory, Soil Water and Plant Analysis Laboratory). The opening ceremony was held by Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı.

Rector Çomaklı, who visited the laboratories, stated that the research infrastructure of the faculty has been completed to a great extent with the previously renovated Food Engineering, Animal Husbandry and Agricultural Biotechnology department laboratories, and stated that all analyses and studies that can meet the demands of the farmers of our country and our region can be carried out in the laboratories as well as scientific research.
