RECTOR HACIMÜFTÜOĞLU CONTINUES HIS DISTRICT VISITS...NARMAN AND OLTU DISCUSS EDUCATION, RESEARCH, AND DEVELOPMENT

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, the Rector of Atatürk University, is continuing the visit program he initiated to enhance the university's presence in the districts, assess the work of academic divisions on site, and evaluate requests and suggestions. In this context, Rector Hacımüftüoğlu and his delegation established a variety of interactions in the Narman and Oltu districts.

Collaboration and Education Was brought to the forefront in Narman

The delegation, which consisted of Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Bülent Çavuşoğlu, Prof. Dr. Hasan Yılmaz, Prof. Dr. Reyhan Keleş, Prof. Dr. Yüksel Göktaş, Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ufuk Okkay, and DAYTAM Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bilal Nişancı, initially conducted a series of visits in Narman. Rector Hacımüftüoğlu met with District Governor Aziz Oğuz Alemdaroğlu and Mayor Aydemir Adem Kınalı to discuss the potential for increased collaboration between Atatürk University and public institutions in the district. The university's presence in Narman is a valuable asset to the region, as the administrators emphasized that education, culture, and social initiatives contribute to the district's development.

The delegation subsequently visited Narman Vocational School to conduct an on-site examination of the academic and administrative studies that were conducted there. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Öz, the Director of the Vocational School, delivered a comprehensive presentation regarding the school's current status, the projects it has implemented, and the students' expectations. Rector Hacımüftüoğlu, who acknowledged Narman's significant potential due to its natural and cultural assets, pledged to continue offering all forms of assistance to enhance the university's integration with the district.

The delegation visited the Narman Fairy Chimneys at the conclusion of the excursion and observed the natural beauty of the district firsthand.

In Oltu, the collaboration between universities and districts is fortified.

Oltu was the delegation's subsequent destination. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu underscored the district's significance to the economy of Erzurum and the region during his visit to the offices of Oltu District Governor Mustafa Çelik and Mayor Adem Çelebi. Hacımüftüoğlu noted that the domestic automobile TOGG, which was inspired by the color of Oltu Stone, is a source of pride for Erzurum and the district, in reference to the added value it provides to the Turkish economy.

In reference to the academic and social contributions made to the district by Atatürk University, which operates two faculties and one vocational school in Oltu, university administrators announced that they will persist in the development of existing projects and the establishment of new partnerships.

Assessment of Academic Research

Within the framework of unit visits, the delegation initially visited Oltu Vocational School, where they engaged in discussions with academicians and the school's director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fikret Doğru. Rector Hacımüftüoğlu expressed his opinions on the necessary measures to enhance the quality of education after receiving information regarding the academic studies, initiatives, and development plans for students at the school.

Subsequently, a meeting was conducted with the attendance of Prof. Dr. M. Dursun Kaya, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, and Prof. Dr. Cavit Yeşilyurt, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Oltu. During this meeting, Rector Hacımüftüoğlu, in collaboration with academicians and administrators, elucidated the necessary actions to be taken in order to maintain Atatürk University's Research University status and to establish future objectives.

Requests from students and academicians were considered.

The requests and suggestions that were expressed will be evaluated urgently, according to Rector Hacımüftüoğlu, who met with both academicians and students one-on-one during the visits. Hacımüftüoğlu underscored that the university consistently collaborates with its students and academicians, stating that the ongoing research to enhance educational and training opportunities will persist.
