RECTOR HACIMÜFTÜOĞLU HOSTED PROF. DR. ERCIŞLI, AWARDED WITH THE IRAKLI SINYAGIN MEDAL

At a meeting on October 17, 2024, the Russian Academy of Sciences, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, awarded Prof. Dr. Sezai Ercişli, a faculty member of the Horticulture Department of the Faculty of Agriculture at Atatürk University, the 2024 Irakly Sinyagin Medal for his contributions to world agricultural science, his international success in science, and his effectiveness in international relations.

After receiving this significant honour, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, the Rector of Atatürk University, invited Prof. Dr. Ercişli to his office to extend his congratulations on his remarkable accomplishment. Prof. Dr. Hacımüftüoğlu commended Ercişli's contributions to the university and the Turkish scientific community, emphasising that this award was a significant step in elevating the prestige of Atatürk University and Prof. Dr. Ercişli in the international scientific community.

Prof. Dr. Sezai Ercişli claimed that the award he received would enhance international collaborations and increase the visibility of his contributions to agricultural sciences. Ercişli attributed his success to the academic and research infrastructure of Atatürk University, as well as his colleagues and students.

Every year, the Irakly Sinyagin Medal is awarded to scientists who have conducted significant research that promotes international relations in the field of agricultural sciences. The Academy members unanimously decided to award Prof. Dr. Sezai Ercişli this prestigious award in recognition of his contributions to international agricultural science projects, the extensive influence of his research, and the significance he places on scientific collaborations.
