CONSUL GENERAL EBRAHIMI WAS THE GUEST OF RECTOR HACIMÜFTÜOĞLU
Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Erzurum, Mohammad Ebrahimi kindly visited newly appointed Rector of Atatürk University, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu. Considered as a significant move to deepen the close relationship between Turkey and Iran in the domains of education and cultural cooperation, this memorable meeting took place at the Rector's office of Atatürk University.
Consul General Ebrahimi wishing Prof. Dr. Hacımüftüoğlu well in his new post, he congratulated him during the visit. Ebrahimi stated his opinion that cooperative academic activity between Iran and Turkey would help to deepen their historical and cultural relations. Ebrahimi underlined that different projects should be carried out, particularly in education, culture, and scientific research, to improve the connections between the two nations in every sphere and said that he would lead such collaboration throughout his term in Erzurum.
On the other hand, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu noted that Atatürk University has carried out major projects not only domestically but also worldwide and that these projects have made great contributions to regional development. He expressed his happiness with the visit. Hacımüftüoğlu underlined that the projects to be carried out jointly with Iranian universities will further strengthen the ties between the peoples of the two countries, so stating that the social, cultural, and scientific activities carried out by the university within the scope of international cooperation will continue to increase.
After the presentation of mutual well wishes, the meeting also covered prospective cooperation in fields including student and academic exchange programs.
