RECTOR HACIMÜFTÜOĞLU MEETS WITH LEADING NAMES OF THE TURKISH PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY

"Summit on Pharmaceutical Industry Strategy and Cooperation" Conducted at the University of Atatürk

 Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu conferred with prominent pharmaceutical industry representatives who visited Erzurum as part of the Northeastern Anatolia Career Fair (KUDAKAF'25). The program commenced with significant visits to the university's scientific and technological infrastructure, which were accompanied by Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ayar, the President of the Turkish Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency.

 The delegation initially visited the Biodiversity Science Museum, which is located within Atatürk University. During their visit, they reviewed academic research that had been conducted on Turkey's natural resources. Subsequently, the sector representatives visited the Eastern Anatolia High Technology Application and Research Centre (DAYTAM) to obtain information from the authorities regarding the ongoing high-tech initiatives.

 The meeting deliberated on strategic initiatives for domestic and national pharmaceutical production.

 The program proceeded with the "Turkish Pharmaceutical Industry Strategy and Cooperation Summit," which was conducted at the Senate Hall of the Rectorate following the visits. During the summit, Rector Prof. Dr. Senior executives and representatives of prominent pharmaceutical companies attended the meetings organised by Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu. During the meeting, the strategic measures towards domestic and national pharmaceutical production were assessed within the context of university-industry collaboration.

 The Pharmaceutical Raw Material Production Centre, which is scheduled to be established within Atatürk University, was one of the summit's most noteworthy titles. It was underscored that this centre is a strategic investment that will enhance Turkey's R&D capacity in the health sector and reduce external dependency on domestic pharmaceutical production.

 Atatürk University is prepared to serve as a strategic partner to the pharmaceutical industry due to its scientific infrastructure, qualified human resources, and interdisciplinary collaboration approach, according to Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu in his evaluation. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ayar, the President of the Turkish Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency, emphasised the significance of these close relationships between the university and the sector in the implementation of value-added health projects.

 At the summit, it was declared that universities are essential for Turkey to establish a competitive position in the pharmaceutical sector by contributing to the production of knowledge and technology. An agreement was achieved to establish common working areas and develop concrete projects.
