RECTOR HACIMÜFTÜOĞLU ATTENDED THE EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETING OF UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS UNION
Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu attended the Extraordinary General Assembly Meeting of the University Hospitals Union (UHB) chaired by Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Rector Prof. Dr. Nuri Aydın. University rectors, vice rectors, chief physicians and representatives of member universities attended the meeting hosted by Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa at the Faculty of Forestry.
At the meeting, the current situation of university hospitals was discussed and the problems and solution proposals were evaluated. In addition, with the election of the Board, the annual report of the union was presented and the elections of the management and audit boards were held. Prof. Dr. Erkan İbiş, Rector of Istinye University, and Prof. Dr. Yunus Söylet, founding president of the union, also attended the meeting.
Rector Hacımüftüoğlu: ‘University Hospitals Play a Critical Role in Providing Quality Health Services’
Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, who made statements after the meeting, drew attention to the importance of university hospitals in the health system and said the following ‘Our university hospitals are structures that not only provide health services but also make great contributions to public health with their education and research activities. These hospitals play a critical role in the provision of quality healthcare services and the development of innovative solutions in the field of healthcare. In our meeting, we exchanged very valuable views in order to further strengthen this structure. I hope that the meeting will have beneficial results for the health system of our country and our universities. I would like to thank everyone who contributed, especially Prof. Dr. Nuri Aydın, Rector of Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, who hosted this meeting.’
While the outputs of the meeting are expected to create an important road map for the country's health sector and universities, it was decided to take joint steps in order for university hospitals to provide more effective service in the future.
