THE MEETING IN WHICH YÖK'S 2030 VISION WAS DISCUSSED WAS ATTENDED BY RECTOR HACIMÜFTÜOĞLU.
Gazi University hosted the inaugural "Regional Meetings with Universities on the Turkish Higher Education Vision Towards 2030" convened by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).
In addition to YÖK President Erol Özvar, the meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, the rector of Atatürk University, and numerous university rectors and representatives. It was asserted that the purpose of these meetings was to discuss the strategic objectives and priorities of the Council of Higher Education with universities and to solicit their feedback.
YÖK President Özvar addressed the strategic headings for the future of higher education in his speech, emphasizing the importance of issues such as accessibility, quality, productivity, research and innovation, internationalization, and sensitivity to employment in order to enhance the competitiveness of the Turkish higher education system in the international arena. Özvar underscored the necessity of addressing these headings in a fair and impartial manner.
Özvar posited that foundation universities should establish tuition policies that will facilitate students' access to university education during this period of economic hardship. He also declared that the Turkish higher education system will be influenced by factors such as global competition, academic productivity, quality assurance, and digitalization in the years ahead.

Rector Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu of Atatürk University, who conducted evaluations at the meeting, stated that the 2030 vision of the Council of Higher Education serves as a guide for universities. He further stated, "The steps taken by our universities to enhance their national and international competitiveness will make substantial contributions to the scientific and academic knowledge of our country during this education transformation process." At Atatürk University, we are committed to conducting significant research by prioritizing quality, digitalization, and scientific research in education in accordance with this vision.
Hacımüftüoğlu also addressed the significance of collaboration and collaborative projects among universities, stating that the meetings organized by YÖK offer a critical platform for influencing the future of the higher education system in Turkey.
The 2030 Higher Education Vision meetings will continue to provide guidance for the strategic planning of universities, as well as for the integration of new educational technologies, sustainability, and the development of employment-oriented programs.
