STUDENTS AND MUNICIPAL OFFICIALS CONVENED AT THE IFTAR TABLE.
As is customary, city administrators accompanied Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, who led iftar programs with students and mingled with Atatürk University students at the iftar table during Ramadan, this year.

In attendance were numerous students, senate members, deans, academics, NGO representatives, vice rectors, rector advisors, Director Levent Akmur, and administrators from public institutions.
Approximately three thousand individuals were in attendance, including representatives from the Science Dissemination Society, Erzimder, IHH, IMH, Abdurrahman Gazi Foundation, Ensar Foundation, Er-İhyaDer, Yedi Hilal, Cihannüma, MTTB, TÜGVA, Ebu İshak, Ülkü Ocakları Presidency, and AK Party Erzurum Youth Branches Presidency. In the iftar program, city administrators approached the tables of the students, engaged in conversation prior to iftar, and broke their fast with them following the adhan and recitation of the Holy Quran.
Subsequent to the iftar meal, Rector Çomaklı conveyed their delight in sharing the productive iftar tables of Ramadan with the students, who are the focus of attention at Atatürk University. He further extended his congratulations to the students on the occasion of Ramadan.
Our nation's future was brightened through our participation in the New Generation University Project.
Rector Çomaklı declared that the iftar dinner, which was generously sponsored by the Erzurum Regional Directorate of Foundations, was provided at no cost this year. He further elaborated, "Sharif's iftar signifies the sacred month of Ramadan, during which we come to the realization that absence, empathy, unity, and comprehension are as real as existence itself.""The act of sharing the table holds great significance in relation to the principles that we have embraced as our motto," he elaborated.
Rector Çomaklı underscored the constant dedication of the Atatürk University family to national unity and solidarity: "The New Generation University Design and Transformation Project has been instrumental in shaping the future of our nation, and we shall continue to labor and produce ceaselessly along this trajectory." "Our commitment to excellence extends beyond mere aspirations of global authority or preeminent decision-making; it is rooted in a desire to foster a strong nation-state."
“All Humanity is Dying Along with Those Murdered in Palestine”
Çomaklı noted that atrocities are occurring in numerous regions of the world at present, with particular emphasis on Gaza and East Turkestan: "Lamentably, Israel executes a blatant genocide against children, women, and the elderly, which systematically destroys these groups. Western countries, which have long been vocal about human rights issues, extend support beyond remaining silent in the face of this circumstance. Regrettably, Muslim countries are confined to merely voicing their concerns. All of humanity is perish in the same manner as those who are being slaughtered in Palestine. Our supplication on this sanctified day of Ramadan is for the deliverance of all those who are subjugated, irrespective of location, but particularly in Gaza, where the level of violence escalates daily.
Never forget that throughout nearly every era of history, we have been the compassion and heart of humanity. The contemporary world is in need of the Turkish perspective on compassion, reason, and administration. For this reason, we must always be the dominant nation. Esteemed youth who will shape the trajectory of my preeminent nation, he advised, "Power should not be our guide; rather, mercy should steer us."
"We are in a month in which our unity and solidarity are strengthened," said Mayor Sekmen.
Mehmet Sekmen, mayor of the Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality, expressed his delight at being in attendance at the iftar program hosted by the students at Atatürk University, a renowned establishment in the city. He further stated that they were honored to recognize this sacred month, which fosters solidarity and unity, preserves the spirit of brotherhood, and bestows numerous benefits.
