SÜHEYLA-SITKI ALP SCIENCE AND ANATOLIAN HIGH SCHOOL WAS OPENED WITH A CEREMONY

Atatürk University Private Foundation Schools, which has been providing education in the field of kindergarten, primary school and secondary school in Erzurum for years, opened a new school that provides high school education.

Private Foundation Schools, which have increased the education quality of the city by making degrees throughout the country for nearly 20 years, opened the Atatürk University Süheyla-Sıtkı Alp Science and Anatolian High School in order to continue this success in high school education and to bring successful students to universities.

To the opening of Süheyla-Sıtkı Alp Science and Anatolian High School, which started its education life in the 2022-2023 academic year; Sıtkı Alp, Founder of Arı Schools and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Çankaya University, who provided significant support for the construction of the high school, and Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, Erzurum Governor Okay Memiş, Erzurum Metropolitan Deputy Mayor Fevzi Polat, Erzurum Chief Public Prosecutor Hüseyin Tuncel, Provincial Police Chief Levent Tuncer, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander J. Col. İlker Şimşek, Yakutiye Mayor Mahmut Uçar, Aziziye Mayor M. Cevdet Orhan and AK Party Provincial President M. Emin Öz as well as representatives of public institutions, parents, teachers and students.

Erdal Karagülle, General Manager of Atatürk University Development Foundation, who made the opening speech of the ceremony, stated that the foundation, which was established in 1986, has achieved many successes in various fields so far; He said that they are happy to open an institution that provides high school education after kindergarten, primary and secondary school.

Thanking Arı Schools Founder and Çankaya University Board of Trustees Chairman Sıtkı Alp and Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, Karagülle wished the Science and Anatolian High School to be beneficial to Erzurum.

“Universities Are Not Institutions Carrying Educational Activities Between Closed Walls”

Stating that Atatürk University has activities in research and development in order to produce, disseminate and transform information into technology in the fields that our country needs, Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı said that besides all these, they have expanded the understanding of the university that can contribute to the city, in a way that will set an example for other universities.

Rector Çomaklı said, “Universities are not institutions that continue their education and training activities within closed walls” and emphasized that they are determined to deliver the full potential and capacity of the university to all segments of society since 2016 when he took office.

Rector Prof. Dr. Çomaklı: “For this purpose, Atatürk University has adopted the principle of supporting the development of our region and then our country with its understanding of education, science and life culture, being an example to the “best” in all its activities, and providing benefit to Turkey and humanity with sustainable and repeatable models. . The aim of all our efforts and works is to contribute to a developed and strong Turkey. Our university is growing in line with contemporary goals. It is also aware that with this growth, its responsibilities towards the city and society we live in increase. The Science and Anatolian High School, which you see behind me today, designed in accordance with today's modern architectural and technological structure and strengthened by its experienced educator staff, is the result of this sense of responsibility.

We know that the biggest investment is the investment in human capital. Human capital is valuable in education. What we need to do in order to raise the future generations of architects in the best way; is to strengthen in a way to target quantity and quality together. With this motto, our foundation schools have provided quality education services to countless students so far. This light, which was lit, grew over time and turned into an education complex with high schools today. One of our most important goals was that our students, who study at foundation schools located on the campus of our university, receive their high school education in our high schools, which are also shaped by the experience of our university. In this context, we complete and put our Foundation High Schools, which are a symbol of the remarkable achievements and vision of our University, into service, and experience and share the joy and pride of realizing this blessed opening. Sıtkı Alp and their precious wife Süheyla Hanım, who have made significant support and contribution to the acquisition of our schools to our University and our city, are here today to share our joy. I would like to emphasize here that Mr. Alp, who spends what he earns from education on education, always welcomes our requests and invitations with kindness. Finally, I hope that Atatürk University Foundation Anatolian and Science High Schools, which we have opened here today, will bring blessings to our Erzurum and our country.

Stating that he was born in the Zümrüt village of Şenkaya district of Erzurum, which has had Turkish-Islamic culture throughout history, Arı Schools Founder and Çankaya University Chairman of the Board of Trustees Sıtkı Alp said that he was happy to support the construction of Süheyla-Sıtkı Alp Science and Anatolian High School, which was brought to his hometown Erzurum.

Stating that as members of a belief whose first commandment is an arrow, they see Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's motto "The truest guide in life is science" as the most valuable guide in their work, Sıtkı Alp said: "On behalf of myself and the Alp family, I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the construction of this educational facility. . I wish our high school to be beneficial to our city of Erzurum, the land of intellectuals, heroes and Dadaşlar, our country and Atatürk University Development Foundation, its administrators, teachers, parents and students.”

It is a great honor for us to live in Erzurum, which is a very special city, and to work in a city where the foundations of the Republic were laid," Governor Okay Memiş started his speech and said: He said that Erzurum, which hosted Mustafa Kemal Atatürk for 58 days during the Erzurum Congress, is a unique geography.

Mentioning that Erzurum is a very important center of culture, education and civilization in the easternmost part of Anatolia, Governor Okay Memiş said: “We are making great efforts to embrace all our students in provinces and districts and to ensure equal opportunities in education within the framework of the opportunities provided to us by our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. We strive to raise our children according to universal values. Our children will grow up in the light of scientific values. We must teach our children the tiniest details of science, technology and science.”

Governor Memiş, who stated that they did not act only with the materialist philosophy of the west, but also gave an education by putting their own values at the center: “We also attach great importance to national and spiritual values. After the opening speeches, Atatürk University Süheyla-Sıtkı Alp Science and Anatolian High School was opened with the participation of the guests, accompanied by prayers. Visiting the Science and Anatolian High School, which is designed in accordance with today's modern architectural structure and equipped with technological tools, the guests said that all conditions are met for the students to receive the highest quality education.
