SCIENTIFIC TOUCH TO MILK AND BREAD PRODUCTION

The dairy factory and bread factory, which is affiliated with Atatürk University Food and Livestock Application and Research Center (GUHAM), enable scientific and academic studies as well as production.

Atatürk University rector Prof. Dr. Ömer ÇOMAKLI who visited pilot milk and bread factories renewed within the scope of the New Generation University Design and Transformation Project and became more modern with new equipment. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı received information about the work done by Pro. Dr. Mustafa Yaprak, Food and Livestock Application and Research Center Manager.

Yaprak stated that the Milk Factory was established in order to provide infrastructure support for research and student applications to process milk and dairy products, stating that the factories are renewed and equipped with the latest technological machines in a way to secure safe food and modern production. Stating that the factories are renewed and equipped with the latest technological machines within the framework of the vision put forward by the university, Prof. Dr. Yaprak, who stated that the bread factory also met a significant need of the university and that they received the return of these breakthroughs in a very short time,  thanked rector  Çomaklı.

The Factory Has A Daily Milk Processing Capacity of 5 Tons

Rector Çomaklı stated that the production of various dairy products ranging from yoghurt to cheese, ayran to raw milk, has been produced in the dairy factory, which was established as a dairy in the first place for student practices and internships, and then developed with a technical infrastructure, adding that the factory which operates within the structure of GUHAM  has a daily milk processing capacity of 5 tons.

Rector Çomaklı stated that the region has an important potential in terms of agriculture and animal husbandry and that people make their livelihood from these sectors for many years, adding that they will continue their scientific and academic studies in order to use this existing power of the city and the region more efficiently. Rector Çomaklı also emphasized that the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is actively involved in the field and that the Mobile Animal Hospital serves the citizens by traveling from village to village. He stated that all units of Atatürk University were offered to the public.

10 Thousands of Bread Are Produced Per Day
Rector Çomaklı also conducted inspections at the Bread Factory, another unit of the Food and Livestock Application and Research Center (GUHAM). He noted that in this modern factory, which includes equipment that allows all stages of bread production to be carried out comfortably, 10,000 bread rolls are produced per day and this number will increase in the coming periods.Noting that the productions are carried out by considering the hygiene rules, Professor. Dr. Çomaklı concluded his words by stating that they will continue to provide every kind of support that will enable GUHAM to work more efficiently, which includes students experts in their fields, and academicians who have undersigned important works, and students who make use of these opportunities.
