TECHNICAL SCIENCES VOCATIONAL SCHOOL CROWNED THE FALL SEMESTER WITH VARIOUS EVENTS
The 2024-2025 autumn semester of the Atatürk University Technical Sciences Vocational School Traditional Handicrafts Department was concluded with special events and exhibitions. Students applied the theoretical knowledge they had obtained in class and combined traditional arts with contemporary methods. The excellence of the education in the department and the talents of the students were demonstrated by the exhibited works.
Lecturer Aydan Akkök provided students with practical training that invigorated traditional handicrafts, under the guidance of Technical Sciences Vocational School Director Prof. Dr. Hayrunnisa Nadaroğlu. The objectives of both glorifying cultural heritage and providing a contemporary interpretation of art were effectively achieved through the preparation of works in areas such as calligraphy, miniature, tile, and marbling.

Prof. Dr. Nadaroğlu underscored the significance of traditional handicrafts in Turkish culture by assessing the exceptional work of the students. In his statement, Nadaroğlu stated, "Our traditional handicrafts are one of the strongest ties between the past and the present." Our students' unwavering commitment to the transmission of these principles into the future is a source of great pride for us. They were greatly encouraged to cultivate their abilities as a result of these exhibitions. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to our students for their exceptional performance, which has served as an inspiration to us all.
Achieving Success through Visual and Applied Education
Under the guidance of Lecturer Aydan Akkök, the seminars offered students the opportunity to transmute their imaginations into art. Akkök asserted that the instruction imparted in the classroom was implemented, and he stated the following:
"We collaborate with our students to preserve traditional arts and to establish a place for this heritage in the modern world with great dedication." The exhibitions' products demonstrate that they enhanced their creative thinking abilities and learning processes. I am proud of each of them.
Significant interest from art enthusiasts
The works on display piqued the interest of both students and visitors. Art enthusiasts awarded the works prepared with traditional Turkish motifs and contemporary interpretations of handicrafts entire marks. Additionally, the exhibitions showcased the personal projects that students developed over the course of the semester.
The Traditional Handicrafts Department of Atatürk University Technical Sciences Vocational School provided students with a distinctive educational experience through the organisation of events, thereby successfully fulfilling its mission to preserve cultural heritage.
