ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY STUDENTS WIN 3 FIRST PRIZES

They Receive Their Awards from the Hands of President Erdogan

Atatürk University students left their marks on TEKNOFEST 2022 held at Samsun Çarşamba Airport. The teams that participated in the competitions organized within the festival with their technological studies and the projects they developed won 3 first prizes and a third prize. The winners received their awards from the hands of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Atauni Rocket Team Fly to the Top

Atatürk University blew in TEKNOFEST BLACK SEA, which continues under the management of the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation) and the Ministry of Industry and Technology.
Atauni Rocket Team V, which successfully passed the reporting stages among 108 teams in the Vertical Landing Rocket Competition, which was held for the first time in the world this year, also successfully landed after the launching carried out at the TÜBİTAK SAGE campus, achieving the 1st prize and was rewarded with 40 thousand TL.

Smart Drug Tracking System Receives First Prize

Another first prize came from Atatürk University Faculty of Medicine 4th Year Student Furkan Güneş. The project named "POLYPHARM", in which a smart drug tracking system was developed for individuals using drugs, won the first prize in the Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Category. A total of 583 projects in 9 fields were submitted and these projects were evaluated by 46 jury members. Projects that were found successful as a result of the preliminary evaluation were entitled to participate in the final competition. In the final competition, the project, which got the thumbs up from the members of the jury, won the first rize and was awarded with a prize of 20 thousand TL, leaving its competitors behind.

The First Prize Comes with the Project Developed for Young Individuals

Another first prize came from Atatürk University Computer Engineering students Şeymanur Başgöze and Ebru Aslan. Başgöze and Aslan won the first prize in the education category with their game, special education and projects that appeal to the 3-5 age group, which they produced by integrating RFID technology and software. The project, which aims to teach the learning content of young individuals such as shapes, colors and animals to the users by using technology, won an award of 20 thousand TL.

Study on Dental Diseases Wins 2nd Prize

The project developed by Zeynep Yıldızbaş, a student of the Faculty of Dentistry, for diseases in the roots of the teeth, which are often misjudged because they show similarities in radiography, came in 2nd in the field of Health and was entitled to receive an award of 13 thousand TL. Thanks to the study, in which each disease has a different fingerprint and a hyperspectral imaging system is proposed as a solution to this problem, the diagnosis of diseases will be made faster and more precisely with artificial intelligence.

The Project Developed for Archery Sport Wins 3rd Prize

The project developed by Atatürk University Computer Engineering students Mine Nur Kasımoğulları and İbrahim Hakkı Rizelioğlu for the archery sport, which has become very popular in recent years, came in 3rd at TEKNOFEST. With the project which contributes to the development of the athlete by processing the data set obtained with an embedded system in the form of a glove that can be worn on the wrist of the athlete who shoots the arrow, it is foreseen that the athlete who continues the virtual training will improve over time.

President Erdoğan: “The Coverage Area of the Festival Has Now Extended Beyond Our Borders”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended  the TEKNOFEST. He made the following remarks in his evaluation of the festival: “I would like to express my gratitude to all the participants of TEKNOFEST, which has become the shining star of our country's national technology move. I congratulate the T3 Foundation, which brought such a proud brand to our country, and all our institutions that are walking the path. The coverage of the world's largest aviation, space and technology festival, which was held for the 5th time this year, has now extended beyond our borders. I proudly followed TEKNOFEST held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, last May. We are with you at TEKNOFEST Black Sea. The magnificent scenery here means something to me. TEKNOFEST, yes, it is ours. TEKNOFEST is a different youth. TEKNOFEST is a different horizon for the future of our country with all its strength. I am happy to be together with the TEKNOFEST generation here. I congratulate all our citizens who came and contributed to the field during the festival, and I also congratulate our competitors.”

Rector Çomaklı: “All the resources of our university are mobilized for everyone with an idea”

Making a brief evaluation after the successful results of the students, Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı said that the determination and effort of the students who participated in the competition at the world's most important technology festival such as TEKNOFEST and won the first prizes with the projects they developed made us very happy and  became a source of pride. Çomaklı stated that as a university, they have been working towards the vision of the Domestic and National Technology Move that our country has put forward especially in recent years. “We continue to support the technological products developed by both our academic staff and students and the projects they produce. We have mobilized all the resources of our university for everyone who has an idea. After becoming a Research University, we will continue to contribute to our country with the awareness of our increased responsibility. In this context, I sincerely congratulate our students who won the first prizes in an organization like TEKNOFEST, where the competition is at a high level, and our teams that ranked first, and I congratulate each and every one of them.” he added.
