TIESF PRESIDENT KERIM VURAL PAYS A VISIT TO RECTOR ÇOMAKLI
Kerim Vural, President of the Turkish Hearing Impaired Sports Federation (TİESF), who came to Atatürk University to share information about the 20th Hearing Impaired Winter Olympics (Deaflympics), which is included in the 2024 activity programme of the Turkish Hearing Impaired Sports Federation (TİESF) and will be held in Erzurum on 02 - 12 March 2024, visited Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı.
Vural, who met with Rector Çomaklı together with the Federation Board Members, was accompanied by Erzurum Youth and Sports Provincial Director Birdal Öztürk.
Informing Rector Çomaklı about the 20th Winter Olympics for the Hearing Impaired, Federation President Vural said that the athletes will compete in alpine skiing, snowboarding, ski running, ice hockey, curling, futsal and chess branches.
Stating that about a thousand athletes from 40 countries will come Erzurum, Vural mentioned the importance of holding this organisation in a city like Erzurum, which is the centre of winter sports, and said that they expect support from Rector Çomaklı.
Rector Çomaklı emphasised that Atatürk University, which is always a supporter of sports and athletes, is an unrivalled university in Turkey in the field of Winter Sports and stated that they have a sports infrastructure that can serve not only the university but also the region.
Stating that they will give the necessary support to the 20th Winter Olympics for the Hearing Impaired, Rector Çomaklı said that they will do their best to ensure that Erzurum can come out of this organisation with a clean mind.
