TÜBİTAK PRESIDENT PROF. DR. HASAN MANDAL VISITS ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY
Science and Technology Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal was the guest of Atatürk University. Secretary General of Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Zafer Aynalı also took part in the visit.
Participating first in the Winter Science Festival, Prof. Dr. Mandal met with children between the 7-14 age group and observed the works done on site. Then, he held an interview with high school and university students in the conference hall. Mandal also answered the questions sincerely giving information about TÜBİTAK's scholarship programs and gave advice to young people about the issues to be considered while planning their career,
President Mandal Met with the Project Team Qualified for Support
President Mandal visited Atatürk University after the conference, and was given a warm welcome by Rector Çomaklı and his administration. In the company of Rector Çomaklı and his administration, he visited the new units, which are among the outputs of the New Generation University Design and Transformation Project, and got information from the unit managers about the work done. Mandal met with the project team conveying his congratulations, whose project was prepared within the scope of the Project Development and Coordination Office under the direction of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selda Örs and presented to the call of Ufuk Avrupa, MSCA, Citizens and received a support of 146 thousand Euros. He made visits to Research Methodology Education and Application Office, Digital Transformation and Software Office, Associate and Undergraduate Education Coordinatorship, Project Development and Coordination Office, Research University Monitoring and Evaluation Office and Data Management Office.
Rector Çomaklı: “Our Center Prevents the Extinction of Living Species”
TUBITAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal continued his visits with the Biodiversity Application and Research Center. Here, Rector Çomaklı gave brief information about the center, stating that it contains the majority of the living species in Turkey and that these special species are under protection, and that studies are continuing to work on the gene maps of the living species known to exist in our country. Rector continued his remarks with the following: "In addition to allowing for scientific and academic studies, the Center will also make sure that people get to know about many disappearing and endangered species with the Biodiversity Museum to be opened soon.
