VISIT TO ACADEMICIANS WHOSE TUBITAK PROJECTS ARE ACCEPTED

Congratulatory visits were made to the academicians whose TÜBİTAK-1003 and TÜBİTAK-1001 projects were supported.

During the visits to convey the congratulations of Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı; Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ayşe Bayrakçeken Yurtcan, Project Development and Coordination Office Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serkan Yıldırım and his deputies Prof. Dr. Selda Örs and Assoc. Dr. Bilal Nişancı met with successful academics and exchanged ideas about future projects.

The projects accepted within the scope of TÜBİTAK's Priority Areas R&D Projects Support Programme (1003) and Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Programme (1001) once again demonstrated the scientific productivity and innovative approaches of Atatürk University.

Within the scope of TÜBİTAK-1003 Project, Faculty of Science Faculty, Dr. Mehmet Karadayı's project titled "Development of Commercial Microbial Fertiliser Formulations from PGPR Species Isolated from Erzurum and Investigation of the Possibilities of Use in Wheat, Barley, Triticale Cultivation" aims to make an important contribution in the field of agriculture and aims to investigate the efficient use of microbial fertiliser formulations.

In addition, 7 projects accepted within the scope of TÜBİTAK-1001 Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Programme were carried out by valuable academicians from different faculties.

Prof. Dr. Gonca Alak, Faculty of Fisheries, with the project "Detection of Microplastics in Commercial Fish Species in the Black Sea, Effects, Protein Oxidation Process in Muscle Tissue and Investigation of Potential Intake Level in Humans", Prof. Dr. Fahri Yavuz Faculty of Agriculture with the project "A Research on the Sustainable Effectiveness of Licensed Warehousing and Related Policies", "Synthesis of Thioredoxin Reductase 1 Targeted New Vulpinic Acid Derivatives and Investigation of Anticancer Effects on Breast, Lung and Liver Cancer Cell Lines". Prof. Dr. Harun Budak, Faculty of Science with the project "Design, Implementation and Evaluation of Augmented Reality Supported Model-Based Teaching Activities in Science Teaching", Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seda Okumuş with the project "Rational Design of Carbon Nitride Based Heterogeneous Photoredox Catalysts for Alpha-C(sp3)-H Activation of Amines", Faculty of Science Faculty Lecturer Assoc. Prof. Dr. Haydar Kılıç with the project "Investigation of Cold Stress Response Mechanisms of Alparslan, a Domestic Bread Wheat Variety, with a Comparative Proteogenomic Approach", Faculty of Science Faculty Lecturer Dr. Prof. Dr. Gökçe Karadayı and Dr. Ferruh Lafzi, Faculty of Science Faculty Member with the project "Cyclisation of Zwitterionic Structures with Azadiene and Ortho-Kinonmetites" bring Atatürk University to the forefront in the national and international scientific community.

On the other hand, Faculty of Pharmacy Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Onur Şenol's project titled "Determination of Hetabolome, Lipidome and Nglycom Profiles of Invasive Lobular Carcinoma Patients and Development of Bioinformatics-Based Multiple Omics Strategies" supported within the scope of TUBİTAK 2519 COST Working Group Support Program was also congratulated.

Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ayşe Bayrakçeken Yurtcan stated that these projects are important steps showing the contribution of Atatürk University to scientific research and the pioneering role of the university in the field of R&D. She said that the projects at the university are carried out under the leadership of the relevant professors and that the successes achieved once again emphasise the university's project culture, R&D activities, entrepreneurial orientation and determination to evaluate external resources.
