Major General Tuncay Altuğ, who was appointed to the Ninth Corps and Garrison Command, visited Atatürk University President Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu on his return. Cooperation between the two institutions, the strategic significance of Erzurum, and regional development issues were the subjects of discussion during the visit to the Rector's Office.

Major General Altuğ was congratulated by Rector Hacımüftüoğlu on his new position during the visit, and the academic and scientific contributions of Atatürk University to the region were discussed. Hacımüftüoğlu underscored the significance of communication between military institutions and universities, emphasising that such visits are essential for the development of initiatives that benefit both the metropolis and the country.

Major General Tuncay Altuğ expressed his gratitude for the scientific research conducted by Atatürk University and stated that he closely monitors the university's contributions to the region and Turkey's education system. Altuğ declared that they would always be delighted to collaborate closely with the university in their capacity as the Garrison Command.
