At Atatürk University, which continues the accreditation process of faculties and departments in order to provide a better quality education to students, the accreditation studies of the Tourism Faculty Tourism Management Department continue.
In this context, while the Faculty of Tourism continues its efforts to accredit the Tourism Management Department of the Faculty of Tourism, the Tourism Education and Accreditation Board (TURAK) team visited Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı to evaluate the developments.
The TURAK team, who made a field visit to the faculty and held some interviews with the internal and external stakeholders of the faculty, came together with Rector Çomaklı to present the exit statement they had prepared.
Dean of the Faculty of Tourism Prof. Dr. Gökalp Nuri Selçuk, who accompanied the TURAK team, talked about the studies carried out for the accreditation of the Department of Tourism Management and stated that accreditation is important to show the quality of the education provided by the faculty and the department and that Rector Çomaklı has important support in this regard.
Rector Çomaklı stated that accreditation is important for higher education institutions to guarantee their high standards and to increase the quality by continuously improving, and that it also provides advantages to students in master's degree applications, overseas applications and student exchange programmes.
Stating that many faculties, units and programmes at Atatürk University have been accredited by official institutions and that efforts are continuing with determination to increase this number, Prof. Dr. Çomaklı added that many departments applying for accreditation throughout the university are in line and he believes that they will be accredited soon.
