The Tourism Management Department of Atatürk University Faculty of Tourism was accredited on January 1, 2024, and the accreditation certificate was presented to the faculty during a ceremony. The certificate was presented to Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yüksel Göktaş on behalf of Atatürk University and Dean Prof. Dr. Gökalp Nuri Selçuk on behalf of the Tourism Faculty by Batman University faculty member Prof. Dr. M. Onur Gülbahar on behalf of the Tourism Education Evaluation and Accreditation Board (TURAK).

Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yüksel Göktaş expressed his gratitude to the academic staff of the Tourism Faculty and TURAK officials for their contributions to the accreditation process during the ceremony. Prof. Dr. Göktaş emphasized the significance of these documents in enhancing the quality of education at the university and noted that two of the three active departments in the Tourism Faculty have been accredited.

In addition to the two accredited departments, Tourism Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Gökalp Nuri Selçuk announced that the Tourism Guidance Department, which has only been producing graduates for the past two years, will also submit an accreditation application this year. Consequently, all departments of the faculty will be accredited. Selçuk stressed that the department has made significant efforts to elevate the quality of education at the Tourism Faculty to national and international standards. According to Prof. Dr. Selçuk, the accreditation procedure will result in students having a more prominent position in the business world, as the graduates of accredited departments will possess the qualifications that are highly sought after in the industry.

This significant accreditation culminates the accomplishments of the Atatürk University Tourism Faculty in the realm of education and the pursuit of perpetual growth.
