ACADEMIC BRIDGE CONNECTING ALGERIA AND TURKEY...ÇOMAKLI, THE RECTOR, RETURNED FROM ALGERIA WITH EIGHT AGREEMENTS.

Atatürk University maintains its bilateral collaborations with universities overseas in addition to its domestic academic pursuits. Rector Professor Dr. Ömer Çomaklı embarked on an academic excursion to Algeria, a country with historical connections situated in the Mediterranean region. The visit of Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı and his accompanied delegation came to a close.

On the first day of his three-day visit, Rector Çomaklı and his team paid a visit to the Algerian Ambassador to the Republic of Turkey, Muhammet Mücahit Kücükyılmaz, in addition to the National Polytechnic University, Houari Boumedine University of Science and Technology, and the University of Algeria. In total, Rector Çomaklı organized eight collaborations during his visit. The academic meetings of the delegation concluded with visits to Blida University, Oran National Polytechnic University, Oran University 1, Oran University of Science and Technology, and Oran University 2. The second day concluded with a visit to Blida University, situated in the capital city of Algeria, Oran.

"The scholarly visits proved to be highly fruitful."

Rector Çomaklı characterized the visit as highly fruitful, asserting that the New Generation Design and Transformation Project, which fundamentally altered the appearance of Atatürk University, constituted a significant accomplishment for the institution. Çomaklı asserted that this transformative measure has been validated by esteemed ranking organizations and internationally. He further stated that the Research University signifies the culmination of this endeavor, which represents the triumph of the entire Atatürk University family. Noting the significance of this and similar visits in terms of acquainting the universities we are visiting with Erzurum's natural beauty, historical, and cultural heritage, Çomaklı stated: "During these academic visits, we aim to establish rapport with the universities we are visiting by showcasing both the illustrious city of Erzurum and our foremost concern, Atatürk University." By signing cooperation protocols, we also formally establish this friendship in conjunction with this mission. "With these feelings, I would like to thank all the universities that hosted us and hope that the agreements made will be beneficial to the parties."

"It Provides a contribution to historical and cultural heritage"

The purpose of this visit, according to Rector Çomaklı, is to enhance academic collaboration between the two nations. He further stated that a sequence of meetings were conducted during the visit with academic institutions in Algeria, where topics including faculty and student exchange programs, collaborative research initiatives, and the signing of protocols were deliberated upon, adding that the visits underscored the historical and cultural heritage shared by Turkey and Algeria, and that the profound relations between the two nations have played a substantial role in fostering academic collaboration. He further expressed that efforts will be maintained to implement measures that will positively impact the future of Atatürk University.
