THE ONLY PROJECT ELIGIBLE FOR A GRANT IN TURKEY IS FROM ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY
The project, which was prepared under the supervision of Assoc. Dr. Selda Örs and prepared within the Project Development and Coordination Office, submitted to the Horizon Europe, MSCA, Citizens call, became the only project that received a grant from Turkey under the relevant call title this year, with full marks.
“Science from Nature to your Table” is the only project entitled to receive a grant from Turkey within the scope of the Horizon Europe, MSCA and Citizens (Researcher Night Event) call, which is organized to bring together researchers and other individuals in the society and to encourage young people in the European Union and all partner countries.
Expressing that it is satisfying to be supported, Assoc. Dr. Selda Örs stated that the main purpose of the Sci-Nurture project is to convey to the society the importance of protecting nature, agriculture and the food chain and the preservation of this chain, especially under pandemic conditions, with the title "Science from Nature to Table": Our project, which aims to inform about the achievements, also aims to reduce the social judgments about researchers and their profession, and to increase the number of people who are directed to research careers in the long run.”
Rector Çomaklı: “This Project and Similar ones Contribute to the Advertisement of Our University”
Stating that Atatürk University, which received the title of Research University as a result of a comprehensive evaluation process carried out by HCE, accelerated its studies in line with this mission, Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı said that this project, which will be carried out by the Project Development and Coordination Office, is very important as it is the first project that Atatürk University will coordinate in the European Union framework programs projects. Congratulating the whole project team, especially, the Project Coordinator Assoc. Dr. Selda Örs Rector Çomaklı wished that the project, which was supported as a result of intense work, would be beneficial to the university and the region.
What is the European Researcher's Night?
Funded as part of the “Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions (MSCA- CTIZENS), European Researchers' Night is a Europe-wide event aimed at connecting researchers with the community. The European Researcher's Night, a science and research festival celebrated simultaneously in more than 250 cities in Europe on the last Friday of September every year, is important as it offers researchers the opportunity to show the diversity of science and its impact on citizens' daily lives, and to stimulate interest in research careers, especially among young people. .
