17TH INTERNATIONAL SNOW FILM FESTIVAL BEGINS
The 17th of the International Snow Film Festival, traditionally organized by Atatürk University, starts on 23 December.
The 17th International Snow Film Festival, the first of which was held in 2004 and has been held 16 times since then, will be held at the Nenehatun Cultural Center between 23-25 December, hosted by the Faculty of Communication. Students who will compete with the works they have prepared for six different categories (fiction, documentary, experimental, animation, advertisement, public service announcement) will be evaluated by the expert jury.
Stating that in the events to be held within the scope of the festival, which will last for three days, besides the short film competition, important names from the world of cinema and television will come together with the students, Atatürk University Faculty of Communication Dean Prof. Dr. Adem Yılmaz added that the International Snow Film Festival, which is among the traditional activities of the Faculty of Communication contributes to the development of the art of cinema and the training of young filmmakers. He made the following remarks: “We aim to contribute to the development of the interest in cinema, especially in our city and in our country in general, at the snow film festival, which we have been holding for 17 years. On this occasion, we would like to thank those who have contributed to the organization of our festival, which we believe will be the scene of colorful images this year, as in all the years it was held, and we welcome everyone who is interested in cinema and art to our event.
Rector Çomaklı: “Such Events Are of Great Importance for Students' Professional Acquisitions”
Emphasizing that these and similar events are very important in terms of bringing new perspectives, transferring knowledge and experience to new generations, applying new methods and keeping up with the changing technological changes, Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı said that one of the most important ways to follow the work done in the national and international fields is to organize events of global scale and value.
Rector Çomaklı also stated that the events that bring together well-known names in the field contribute significantly to the personal development of the students. He said: “Our students, who come together with the people they have considered as professional role models, make significant gains in directing their careers with the experiences they have gained here and the answers to their questions. On the occasion of this event, our students studying in our Faculty of Communication come together with people who work in every field of the sector. I wish the 17th International Snow Film Festival held this year to be fruitful, and thank the Faculty of Communication family for their efforts.”
What's in the 17th International Snow Film Festival?
Among the guests who will attend the festival, which will include four directors and two musical groups from Iran, are TRT Joint and Foreign Productions Director Faruk Güven, Turkish Cinema Critic Mehmet Açar, Alin Taşcıyan, who presents the programs 'Once Upon a Time on TRT', 'The Magic of Cinema and the White Screen', and 'Behzat C. and Serdar Akar', director of Çiçero, Ali Özel, musician and actor Renan Bilek, Azerbaijani director Cavit Tvekkul and Prof. Dr. Serdar Öztürk will be the guests. In addition, exhibitions titled "Hüsn-ü Hat", "Erzurum and Life" and "Tabrizim" will be held at the festival.
The series 'GÖNÜL DAĞI' is Coming
'The Gönül Dağı' TV series team, which Turkey follows with interest, will also attend the Snow Film Festival, which will be held for the 17th time this year. The team of 'Gönül Dağı', the most popular TV series of recent times in Turkey, is coming to the festival. Inspired by the stories of Mustafa Çitçi, the TV series 'Gönül Dağı' has created a bond of affection with its audience since the day it has started. Ferhat Eşsiz is the producer of the series, which tells about the "Anatolian Tale on the Steppe", and Yahya Samancı is the director. The participation of 'the Gönül Dağı' TV series team in the 17th Snow Film Festival is already a great attraction for cinema and art lovers.
