INFORMATION AND SOCIAL COHESION MEETING FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS HELD
The Information and Social Cohesion Meeting for International Students was organized jointly by Atatürk University Foreign Relations Office Coordinator and Erzurum Governorship Provincial Directorate of Migration Management.
The event was held at the Cultural Center 15 July National Will Hall, which was hosted by Atatürk University, with the participationof vice rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Sözbilir and Provincial Migration Management Director Haşim Özcan, 1st Organized Industrial Zone Directorate Chairman Murat Urkuç and Eastern Anatolia Exporters Union Vice President Kamil Polat, Provincial Immigration Management experts, academics and international students.
The program started with the introduction of the Directorate of Immigration Administration and an informative video about the Türkiye Scholarship Program prepared by the Provincial Immigration Administration, and then the Provincial Migration Experts Kübra Karasu and Kenan Topal provided the students with their work and procedures regarding their entry and exit to Türkiye, their stay in Türkiye, and their mutual harmony with the society. They provided information about the activities aimed at increasing social awareness.
1. Organized Industrial Zone Directorate Chairman Murat Urkuç and Eastern Anatolia Exporters Union vice president Kamil Polat gave information to international students about job opportunities in Türkiye and Erzurum. After the speeches, the students met with Murat Urkuç and Kamil Polat and asked some questions.
“Our International Students Are Very Valuable To Us”
Speaking at the program, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mustafa Sözbilir stated that Atatürk University has made important developments in terms of internationalization in recent years, and that there has been an increase in the number of international students in line with these developments.
Stating that 8 thousand 901 international students, including 800 associate degree, 7 thousand 450 undergraduate, 460 master's and 191 doctorate, receive education at the University, Sözbilir emphasized that this number is above the average of Türkiye.
Noting that students coming from all over the world to study at Atatürk University are an important wealth for the University, Prof. Dr. Sözbilir said: “We try to deal with our international students by establishing very close relations with the instruction of rector Çomaklı. Our students, who build a cultural bridge between Türkiye and their countries, are very valuable to us. I sincerely believe that our students studying at our university will undertake important tasks both in Türkiye and in their countries.”
Provincial Director of Migration Management Haşim Özcan stated that they are pleased to realize this useful program together with Atatürk University and that they will continue to touch hearts with inter-institutional cooperation.
