Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mehmet Sekmen and AK Party Erzurum Provincial Head M. Emin Öz visited the Rector of Atatürk University, Prof. Ömer Çomaklı.

Welcoming the leaders of the Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality, one of the most important partners of Atatürk University in social, cultural, scientific and economic terms; and the AK Party Provincial Directorate, with whom it has been in social solidarity during the pandemic, Rector Çomaklı exchanged ideas with his guests about the city and the university.

Speaking about the importance of inter-institutional cooperation during the Covid-19 pandemic process, Rector Çomaklı emphasized that in this period, all institutions should work together to serve the people of Erzurum.

“We are the People Looking in the Same Direction and Struggling for the Same Purposes”

Rector Çomaklı stated that Atatürk University and Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality have cooperated in many fields and this cooperation has increased over time, and said: “We are in constant communication with our Metropolitan Municipality, one of our biggest shareholders. We are people looking in the same direction, striving for the same goals and continue their work based on intimacy. Since the day we took office, we have been constantly developing collaborations and carrying out important projects with our municipality and Provincial Directorate in many fields.”

The visit, during which especially the projects organized by the University and the Metropolitan Municipality was discussed, ended with the evaluation of the future studies for the development of the city and the university.

New Collaboration Protocols to be Added Every Day

Important collaboration projects have been signed between Atatürk University and Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality in recent years. The highlights of these protocols are these: Structural Support of the East Anatolian Observatory (DAG) Project, Rehabilitation of estray Animals, Examination for Promotion, 1 Million Software Developer Training Project, Elite Breeding Herd Production Center Installation Project with Embryo Transfer in Eastern Anatolia Region, and Cooperation Protocol in Postgraduate Education and Training.
