A SEMINAR WAS HELD ON SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH WITH SATELLITE SYSTEMS

Hosted by Atatürk University Oltu Vocational School, the "Scientific Researches with Satellite Systems" seminar, which was held in partnership with Dokuz Eylül University and NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), was held face-to-face and online.

The satellites used, the traceability of risky areas such as volcano and landslide areas, the examination of probability situations and the researches made with satellites were evaluated in the program.

As an academician of Atatürk University and also a member of the organizing committee, Res. Assist. Dr. Fikret Doğru explained his researches with data and graphics within the scope of his presentation on the subject 'what would happen if the volcanoes in Turkey are active and if the volcano erupts on Mount Ararat?'

Sharing the way of determining the mountains with volcanic risk, the applications that can be reached in research and important articles on the subject, Mr. Doğru gave details about the volcanic activities that took place in the historical process and gave information about the predicted eruption times.

An Associate Professor at Dokuz Eylul University, Ayça Çırmık, on the other hand, cited previous studies as an example by referring to the basic principles of detecting plate movements and the points to be considered during the GNSS measurement, which is the Positioning System with Satellites. Batuhan Osmanoğlu from NASA's National Weather Service talked about passive and active radars. After the radar presentation, Dr. Ali Tokay  working at NASA,  also  talked about the main stations, mast and remote sensing and profit measurements.

The members of the organizing committee thanked Ömer Çomaklı for his close interest in the seminar to be held to contribute to Atatürk University's goal of internationalization within the scope of the New Generation University Design and Transformation Project and expressed their gratitude to all the participants for their contributions.
