Governor of Erzurum Mustafa Çitfçi made a return trip to see Atatürk University Rector Professor Dr. Ömer Çomaklı.
Governor Çiftçi stated that the presence of a well-established and modern university such as Atatürk University is of great value to the city, adding that the fact that it uses the knowledge it has produced for the benefit of society and that it conducts studies directly in the field with its applied units have significantly contributed to the growth of Erzurum. Governor Çiftçi stated that he has understood the significance of Atatürk University for the city in the short time he has been in office. He noted that the cooperation with the university, which integrates with students in terms of dorms, social facilities, artistic and athletic activities, will continue to strengthen as he assumes the governorship for a second term.
Governor Çiftçi stated, "We will work closely with Atatürk University."
“The nests of science and wisdom that prepare our young for the future, universities are the guarantee of our future." Universities also train students for social life. As organizations that produce and disseminate scientific knowledge, universities are typically one of the most important drivers of development in this regard. As the Governor's Office, we will collaborate closely with our university at the juncture of provincial growth and development. Rector Çomaklı: "Joint Studies Strengthen Inter-Institutional Communication"
Rector Çomaklı shared information regarding the operation of Atatürk University, the works it has completed, and the projects it intends to implement. He expressed his appreciation for Governor Çiftçi's return visit, who was recently appointed to Erzurum and to whom they paid a visit.
Rector Çomaklı stated that with the beginning of the new academic year, there has been significant activity in the city due to the presence of approximately 70,000 formal students, and that all university preparations in scientific, social, cultural, and athletic terms have been completed. According to him, they improved their communication with one another.
Çomaklı thanked Governor Çiftçi for his visit and wished him success in his new position, highlighting the significance of the visit in terms of cooperation and harmony between the Erzurum Governorship and Atatürk University.
The meeting, during which opinions were exchanged regarding the expansion of institutional cooperation and initiatives that could be undertaken jointly in the upcoming period, concluded with expressions of goodwill.
