A SYMPOSIUM HONORING THE LATE NECIP FAZIL KISAKÜREK WAS INAUGURATED AT ATATÜRK UNIVERSITY ON THE OCCASION OF THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF HIS PASSING.

The Minister of National Education Prof. Dr. Yusuf Tekin attended the Necip Fazıl Kısakürek Symposium on the 40th Anniversary of his death, which was organized by the Cihannüma Solidarity and Cooperation Association, of which Atatürk University is a shareholder. The symposium's theme was "Education and Youth."

Hosted by Atatürk University, the symposium commenced at the Nenehatun Cultural Center with a recitation of the Holy Quran. Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı,  Governor Mustafa Çiftçi, AK Party Erzurum Deputies Selami Altınok and Mehmet Emin Öz, Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mehmet Sekmen, Former Erzurum Deputy Prof. Dr. Mustafa Ilıcalı, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Brigadier General Metin Düz, Provincial Police Chief Kadir Yırtar, Provincial Director of National Education Yakup Yıldız, Ankara Social Sciences University Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Kazım Arıcan, Rector of Ankara Music and Fine Arts University Prof. Dr. Erhan Özden, Rector of Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University Prof. Dr. Abdulhalik Karabulut, Rector of Ardahan University Prof. Dr. Mehmet Biber, district mayors, AK Party Erzurum Provincial Chairman İbrahim Küçükoğlu, Cihannüma Solidarity and Cooperation Association President Rıza Yorulmaz, institution directors, non-governmental organizations, academicians and students were present at the event.

In the opening remarks of the symposium, the Minister Tekin commenced his discourse by expressing his profound exasperation with the current order. He said that Israel's atrocities against Palestine have been brought to the agenda at regular intervals since his childhood, noting, "The organizations that are responsible for protecting world peace and the rights of the nations of the world will probably come out after all these attacks are over and Israel has achieved its intended goals, and they will find Israel's attacks legitimate and Israel's achievements reasonable and logical, with references to the texts we mentioned, and they will find Israel's achievements reasonable and logical."

Tekin emphasized that the Cihannüma Solidarity and Cooperation Association, which represents the period of a generation and whose mission is to pass on thousands of years of history to future generations, is one of the most influential non-governmental organizations in Turkey, adding that he proudly penned the account of its founding and was honored to serve as its founding chairman.

Professor Dr. Tekin asserts that Necip Fazıl Kısakürek is not solely a poet and author of Turkish literature, but also a highly influential thinker in Turkish and Muslim thought: "The era in which he resided is one that demands active engagement in direct opposition and being at the epicenter of endeavors that advocate for Islam and humanity. Inasmuch as the culture of tutelage frequently obfuscated the history of Turkish democracy, the deceased Necip Fazl was, in a sense, mired between coups. In reality, it is not inaccurate to assert that he is a poet. Rather than viewing events from the outside, the poet, whose artistic work was nourished by the intellectual and spiritual world, continued his craft by incorporating action plans and events into each stage of his work."

Minister Tekin delivered the documents to Rector Çomaklı and representatives from other stakeholder institutions of the program subsequent to the inaugural speeches. These documents were presented as part of the "I am Raising an Orphan" campaign.

The symposium ended with a souvenir photograph and expressions of benevolence.
