CAMPUS MEETINGS HAVE BEGUN WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF "DESIGN AND TRANSFORMATION PROJECT FOR NEW-GENERATION UNIVERSITY"
Atatürk University graduates have begun meeting with the undergraduates and those from different sections of the society within the framework of "Project for Campus Meetings". Within this scope, they met with 50 people graduated from Agricultural Faculty half century ago. But, they initially visited Atatürk University rector Prof.Dr. Ömer Çomaklı. Following the visit, they went to the Coordination Unit of Scientific Research Projects (BAP) and then back to Agricultural Faculty reliving their pupilage there.
"Welcome to your University half century later," Çomaklı said in his adress to participants, mostly 1968 graduates. Çomaklı explained about the chronological development and current situation of the University with numbers, stating the University has taken important steps on the path to being New-Generation University. Mentioning the importance of meeting with Atatürk University graduates, he laid emphasis on creating a "graduate tracking system", stressing they have developed a variety of strategies to reach all the graduates and to enhance the sense of belonging.
BAP coordinator Prof.Dr. Atilla Keskin has introduced "Design and Transformation Project for New-Generation University", talking about the purposes of the project and the targets of the University. He emphasized the importance of coming together with the graduates of the University on the path to being New-Generation university, adding that the graduates are the primary components of the University; they will be given a special space on the website still being designed and they have contributed much to the current situation of the University.

Following their visit to the rectorship, the graduates were welcomed by the Agricultural Faculty dean Prof.Dr. Ahmet Çelik. He mentioned the changes at the Faculty and demonstrated the performance of the Faculty with numbers after they walked about the Faculty. "It is so exciting to meet with our graduates half century later. These kinds of meetings are very important to refresh the memories and to enhance the sense of belonging." he added.
Retired faculty member Prof.Dr. Ziya Yurttaş and businessman Ahmet Çelen made speeches on behalf of the graduates, stating that the current situation of the University and its New-Generation University vision are exciting. Ahmet Çelen put emphasis on the importance of the university-industry cooperation, adding that in addition to official duty, busines world has important alternatives and entrepreneurship courses are vital to this end.
