AN INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY CENTER: DAYTAM
Eastern Anatolia High Technology Application and Research Center, with a short name "DAYTAM", was established with a total investment of 35 million TL with the support of 8 million TL from the State Planning Organization (SPO) and the equities of Atatürk University and has continued to serve since 2014.
With a usage area of 4,000 m2, DAYTAM has 17 research laboratories of various sizes, 160 m2 clean rooms including 10,000, 1,000 and 100 classes, 12 system rooms and 2 conference halls. All work is carried out meticulously at DAYTAM, where a total of 30 personnel, including 15 academic and 15 administrative personnel, work.
It Provides High-Tech Devices and Laboratory Infrastructure
The center aims to serve the industry with higher education and research institutions, to raise the research power and scientific prestige of Türkiye and the University to higher levels on a national and international scale, and to contribute to science with international joint project collaborations. or aims to improve materials. In addition, DAYTAM provides advanced technological equipment and laboratory infrastructure for scientific research in the fields of basic sciences, engineering sciences, materials science, nanotechnology, molecular biology, genetics, biotechnology and life sciences.
It Has “Good Laboratory Practices” Certificate…
Receiving the OECD Good Laboratory Practices-ILU (Good Laboratory Practice-GLP) Declaration of Conformity in 2022, DAYTAM's prestige and reliability are officially recognized in the national and international arena with the ILU document, which is accepted as a reliable indicator of the technical competencies of laboratories. Analysis reports to be submitted by DAYTAM within the scope of OECD ILU is valid in a total of 38 OECD member countries, including the USA, Germany, Austria, the United Kingdom and France.
R&D Projects That May Be The Subject Of Patents Are Supported
Within the scope of the Post-Doctoral Contract Researcher Program, the center provides resource and post-doctoral contract researcher (Post-Doc) scholarships for R&D projects that can be the subject of patents, including the production of a new product with high added value, the efficiency and economic development of an existing product process or improvement. It evaluates projects on energy production, conversion and storage, photonics, sensor technologies and applications, smart materials, defense industry processes and technologies, synthesis of high value-added chemicals, biotechnology and genetics.
Rector Çomaklı: “We Produce Solutions for the Needs of the Industry”
Stating that DAYTAM has 2147 academic members and 19 private sector members working in higher education institutions and that these members are provided with approximately 15 thousand test/analysis services per year, Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı said that DAYTAM continues to work to provide infrastructure support to ongoing research and to assist universities and industrial organizations in solving their problems.
The services provided by DAYTAM to academia and industry are as follows:
Chemical Tests
Chemical Content Analysis and Determination of Structure: Many techniques are used together for chemical content and structure analysis of organic and inorganic samples, and the composition of the mixture and the clear structure of the components are determined by evaluating the data obtained collectively. Chemical content analysis includes chemicals, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, polymers, medical devices, food products, packaging materials, minerals, natural products, synthetic products, biotechnological products and biological samples. Appropriate analytical methods are developed and validated for the determination of the impurity and toxic component profile of industrial and natural products.
Trace Chemical Analysis: Trace chemical analysis detects trace metals and residual organic compounds. In addition, method development and validation studies are carried out for the determination of potential Extractables and Leachables (E&L) originating from drug container lids, process equipment and medical device packaging. Trace metal analysis in drugs is carried out in accordance with USP <232> and <233>, EP (2.4.20) and ICH Q3D standards.
Pharmaceutical Analysis: Advanced chromatographic and mass systems and method development and validation services are provided for drug active ingredient analysis, drug impurity analysis, drug stress studies and pharmacokinetic studies.
Tests in Materials Science and Nanotechnology
Analysis and Determination of Structural, Optical and Morphological Properties: Elemental, morphological, structural, chemical, optical and electrical properties of inorganic and organic materials are characterized using various analysis devices and techniques at micro and nano scale. Using advanced technological spectroscopy and imaging techniques for these analyzes, reliable and highly sensitive results are provided to researchers and industry. These analyzes carried out in powder or solid samples, thin films, metallic materials, biomaterials, biomedical products and devices, inorganic and organic structures, mineral samples, geological samples, raw materials, ceramics and glasses, plastics and micro/nano devices.
Device Production and Characterization: Based on the developments in the field of today's technologies, we produce and design advanced technology products that researchers and industry need. Prototype production and characterization of micro and nano devices such as optical and gas sensors, biosensors, light-emitting diodes (LED), photocatalyst diodes, solar cells, fuel cells, transistors, are produced in our clean rooms of different classes (100, 1.000 and 10.000 classes) and in our laboratories with our advanced technological device and equipment infrastructure.
Life Sciences Tests
Biocompatibility Tests: In-vitro biocompatibility tests are carried out in our center in accordance with ISO and OECD guidelines, which are necessary for the placing on the market of products produced naturally or synthetically in industrial sectors such as biomedical, food, agriculture, pharmaceutical and cosmetics. Biocompatibility tests cover cytotoxicity, genotoxicity, phototoxicity, hemolytic effect test, skin irritation and corrosion, degradation and microbial tests of cosmetics, and the tests are carried out according to international standards.
Biological Efficacy Tests: Cell culture studies including cytotoxicity analyzes and apoptosis/necrosis tests are carried out in our center to determine the toxic effects of substances or materials obtained naturally or synthetically by researchers. In addition, high quality and reliable service is provided to researchers for analysis methods such as molecular biology and genetic analyzes, microbiological tests and advanced imaging needed in scientific research.
