Atatürk University

THE EVALUATION PROCESS HAS BEEN FINALIZED BY THE YÖKAK BOARD.

Atatürk University successfully completed the field visit procedure, which was conducted by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) as part of the Institutional Accreditation Program (KAP) from May 25-28, 2025. The university's quality assurance system, leadership and governance approach, education-training activities, research-development capacity, and social contribution processes were evaluated with a holistic approach over the course of the four-day program.

The YÖKAK Evaluation Team, which included academicians from various universities, one administrative and one student evaluator, conducted one-on-one meetings with the Rectorate, academic and administrative units, student representatives, and external stakeholders during the visit. The meetings covered a variety of topics, including the quality-oriented studies of the units, internal evaluation processes, stakeholder satisfaction, and determination to achieve strategic objectives.

All divisions presented the documents, outputs, and sample applications they prepared within the framework of the PUKÖ (Plan - Do - Check - Take Measures) cycle during the field visit. They also disclosed the manner in which the quality management system was implemented throughout the university. The evaluation team commended the university's sustainable development vision, stakeholder participation-based management approach, and robust infrastructure.

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, the Rector of Atatürk University, evaluated the process and asserted that the university was a pioneer in quality-based transformation projects in higher education. He also stated, "Institutional Accreditation is not merely a document for us; it is a representation of the collective effort, determination, and responsibility we share for the future with all of our academic and administrative stakeholders." I would like to express my gratitude to the YÖKAK Evaluation Team for their constructive approach throughout the process.

Prof. Dr. Hacımüftüoğlu also underscored that the quality processes under the leadership of YÖKAK President Prof. Dr. Ümit Kocabıçak and the visionary approach of the President of the Council of Higher Education Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar are the cornerstones of a robust transformation in higher education.
