ADMINISTRATORS GATHERED FOR ERZURUM
Atatürk University rector Prof. Dr. Ömer ÇOMAKLI attended the Cold Milk Chain Coordination meeting organized by the Governor of Erzurum Okay Memiş, and then the meeting during which the festivals that could be held in Erzurum were discussed. Çomaklı presented the university's views and suggestions on these issues during the meeting.
Besides the Rector Çomaklı, Mehmet Sekmen, mayor of Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality and representatives of public institutions and deans of Faculty of Fine Arts, Communication, Literature and Tourism attended the meetings held in the governor's meeting hall.
During the Cold Milk Chain Project meeting, which was created to evaluate quality raw milk in Erzurum, which is one of the important centers of animal husbandry in the Eastern Anatolian Region, Governor Okay Memiş told that milk producers were trained on the main topics such as animal care, milk hygiene, milking, milk tank usage, and said the project was gradually spread across Erzurum.
“We are Ready to Provide All the Necessary Support to the Cold Milk Chain Project”
Rector Çomaklı stated that they would be pleased to support the Cold Milk Chain Project if needed with all the departments of the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine of the University of Atatürk, Food and Livestock Application and Research Center (GHUAM), and stated that studies should be conducted in the light of scientific data in order to obtain more efficient results in animal husbandry.
In the meeting which aims to bring cultural and economic vitality and synergy to Erzurum, featuring an important potential with its ancient values, historical heritage and cultural texture,the administrators exchanged views about the festivals that could be held.
Rector Çomaklı, who presented his ideas on the subject, pointed out that the educated human potential at Atatürk University should be used in this direction, and emphasized the importance of having approximately 90 thousand students studying in the center of Erzurum.
Emphasizing that students who act as a bridge between cities and countries always have an advantage for Erzurum, Çomaklı said that they wanted to engage in all kinds of activities that will realize the dream of becoming a city of festivals and introduce the city to the world, which is one of the 49 projects offered by the common mind on the way they set out to seek the future of Erzurum.
