5 MORE DEPARTMENTS ACCREDITED AT THE FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE

Atatürk University has achieved another important success in line with its goal of increasing the quality of education and training graduates at international standards. The Departments of Horticulture, Plant Protection, Field Crops, Soil Science and Plant Nutrition and Zootechnics of the Faculty of Agriculture were accredited for the first time by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Agricultural Faculties Education Programmes (ZİDEK). With this success, the total number of accredited programmes of the university reached 68.

Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Prof. Dr. Önder Çalmaşur stated that these 5 departments, which have passed the rigorous evaluation processes of ZİDEK and obtained accreditation, have registered the quality of education of the faculty. Dean Çalmaşur said: ‘Previously, our Agricultural Machinery and Technologies Engineering and Food Engineering departments were also accredited. Today, we have increased this number to 7. This development is an important step that demonstrates the quality and international acceptability of our faculty in education.’

Rector Hacımüftüoğlu: ‘The Success of our University Continues to Strengthen’

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, Rector of Atatürk University, congratulated this success of the Faculty of Agriculture and pointed out that the university is in a leading position in Turkey in terms of accredited programmes. Rector Hacımüftüoğlu: ‘Our university continues to be the educational institution with the most accredited programmes in our country. By carrying this success further, we are building an education system that can compete in the international arena.’

Prof. Dr. Hacımüftüoğlu pointed out that accreditation processes contribute greatly to the development of academic staff and educational infrastructure as well as the benefits they provide to the students and said: ‘I believe that this important development in the Faculty of Agriculture will reflect positively on both the careers and academic success of our students. In this direction, the accreditation of our programmes is an indication that we are constantly raising the quality bar in education. I congratulate all the academic staff who contributed to this success.’
