RECTOR ÇOMAKLI PARTICIPATED IN AA'S "PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE YEAR" VOTING

Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı participated in the "Photographs of the Year" voting organized by Anadolu Agency (AA).

Çomaklı has voted for 3 photographs in the "news", "sports" and "life" categories by examining the photographs taken by AA photojournalists at home and abroad, reflecting the events that marked 2020.

Rector Çomaklı, who voted in the "News" category to the photo titled "Worship in Hagia Sophia 86 years later", which was taken on the day of prayer after the opening of Hagia Sophia-i Kebir Mosque-i Şerifi, one of the symbols of Istanbul, also examined the other photos one by one.

Çomaklı, who chose Fecri Barlık's "Volleyball court from tires" photos in the sports category, voted for Band Kanani's "coronavirus silence in the Kaaba" in the lifestyle category.

Çomaklı, who evaluated the photographs after the voting, stated that every picture taken by AA reporters and photojournalists was more beautiful than the other and stated that he had difficulties in choosing photographs.

"Anadolu Agency Has Been Appealing To The World"

Indicating Anatolian Agency, featuring Turkey's first "news agency" Çomaklı added that the he closely followed Anadolu Agency both for  the required information about  many events and for assessment and comments. Emphasizing news agnecies as important as industries  in the world Rector Çomaklı stated that: "I think Anadolu Agency's studies, news and comments in different languages have become appealing to the whole world. With these thoughts, I would like to thank Anadolu Agency employees and managers, who have been providing news service to the society from the past to the present, for their efforts. "
