Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı released a message on the occasion of August 30 Victory Day. Çomaklı made the following statements in his message: "August 30 is the fruit of a faithful nation's struggle, the symbol of its freedom. As much as it is a Victory Day, it is a nation's pride, sweat, and blood spilled on the ground. It is the name of the great victory at the end of a war that continued with impossibilities, in an attemp to clear the homeland from the enemy."

"August 30 Victory Day is a day of endless pride for us. We commemorate all our martyrs and veterans, especially Commander-in-Chief Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades in arms, who gave us the happiness of living with the honor of this great victory, as well as everyone who gave their best in the name of full independence with respect, gratitude and mercy for leaving a homeland for us that 'will stand forever'."
