RECTOR HACIMÜFTÜOĞLU CONTINUES TO HOST GUESTS
Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu continues to receive congratulatory visits. Local and foreign academicians, administrative staff, representatives of various institutions and organisations, non-governmental organisation managers, students and heads of foundations and associations visit Hacımüftüoğlu in his office and offer their congratulations for the new term and express their support.
Rector Hacımüftüoğlu, who made evaluations on the steps to be taken for the scientific progress of the university in his meetings with his guests, said: ‘We will manage our university together with our members, we will take our steps according to the decision taken by the common mind, and we will build a new world university together on this path we set out as “we, not me”. The way to do this is to create working environments that will increase the efficiency of our academicians. We will pave the way for our scientists to progress and remove the obstacles in their way. We will endeavour to attract scientists from abroad to Erzurum. We will build a bridge between these pioneering academics we will bring to our university and our own academics and increase scientific interaction. I believe that these steps will carry our university forward in every field.’ He shared his goal of increasing the scientific success of the university with his guests.
Rector Hacımüftüoğlu: ‘We are ready to support all kinds of studies that will benefit the society’
Prof. Dr. Hacımüftüoğlu emphasised the value that scientists from abroad will add to the university and the city: ‘If we can provide this mosaic, we will rise rapidly not only in our country but also in the international arena. We are working on various projects and incentives in this direction. Our aim is to concentrate on problems. Our priority is to carry out studies that will directly affect humanity. Only through these studies can we put science at the service of the city.’ Hacımüftüoğlu pointed out that the areas that the university should focus on should be studies with high widespread impact and added value, and emphasised that research and development activities should go beyond aiming only for academic success and focus on projects that will provide social benefit and contribute to the national economy.
In this context, Hacımüftüoğlu pointed out that universities should assume a pioneering role especially in areas such as technology transfer, innovation and entrepreneurship, stating that such studies will have a high impact both locally and nationally and will play an important role in increasing Turkey's global competitiveness. Stating that success is directly related to being happy, Rector Hacımüftüoğlu added that the university has the necessary potential to achieve these goals with its strong academic staff and scientific infrastructure.
