Celebrating the 63rd anniversary of its establishment and carrying its institutionalization to an important level in this process, Atatürk University has published New Generation University Structural Transformation Application Report (2016-2020)within the scope of transparency, accountability, and participation principles.

The New Generation University Design and Transformation Project which has been launched by Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı since the day he took office with the aim of improving the current capacity of the university, transforming the information into high added value outputs and increasing research performance, continues to give its outputs.

In this context, Rector Çomaklı made the following evaluations on the subject, stating that the studies carried out between 2016-2020 were compiled in order to reposition Atatürk University and prepare it for the future within the framework of the vision of the New Council of Higher Education: “19 search conferences were held during the New Generation University Design and Transformation Project. A wholistic meta-system was designed to combine education, research and social contribution mission areas for the university with a common mind by inviting 208 experts outside the university and 1026 experts within the university. The designed system came true with a transparent and democratic approach with a wide stakeholder audience. This approach became an indispensable part of our activities.”

Emphasizing that they aim to create a multiplier effect in the three missions of Atatürk University, which integrates education, research and contribution to society and thus expand the university's influence, Rector Çomaklı said that the university has developed an eight-tier managerial approach and a multi-dimensional project approach to make the mentioned integration.

The Studies Were Carried Out Under Five Headings

Rector Çomaklı, stating that they have put the researches carried out between the years 2016 and 2020 when structural transformations were experienced at Atatürk University into report form, said the studies were carried out under five headings; Discipline of Current System and Structural Arrangements, New Generation University Design and Transformation Project Studies, Ataturk University Adaptation Studies in Covid-19 Pandemic Process and Development Indicators.

Planning has been Made for the Next Four Years

Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı stated that the report also included the vision projects planned in the 2020 and 2024 period and finished his words by saying: “I would like to thank all our academic and administrative staff, students and alumni who took part in the senate, board of directors, search conferences, committee, commission, working group teams in the studies carried out between 2016-2020.
